I collaborated with my friend Trent of Mechanical Birds to create new versions of a few songs. He did the production work in protools, as well as some work with synth and arranging. I love not having to push all the buttons sometimes.
Getting to Know Someone
Moeritherium meets Megatherium
released July 1, 2010
Tony played and sang,
Trent recorded and played and mixed and mastered.
Distaste for the human race drives me insane every day
the boy with the book who told me to look
to see things in God's way
I envy those who find security in religion and like company
I can't pay the cost or the message got lost
but I don't think God's talking to me
The phone is ringin now that's something who could it be
maybe he talks to quick or I'm just a dick
maybe I'm not listening?
Maybe its not him it's me I have been known to blaspheme
isn't it just swell I'll go to heaven or hell
I hope they won't mind if I'm tardy
Track Name: Moeritherium meets Megatherium
Lets watch the world turn to shit
as we poke it with a stick
do you really love me or am I just someone to hold?
The stillness of the night couldn't make me feel guilty
for not believing in God
Is this a puppy or is my dog getting old?
Lets get fucked up and run around half naked wouldn't that be fun?
I have to get you right on outta my head uh oh I'm in love
since getting drunk is my only escape
I guess I'll do it some more
Baby how can I resist you when you are so much fun?
When I'm drunk I fall in love easily
When I'm sober I'm not there
Why does it all have to be so far out of reach when I know its for me?
Track Name: Twilight
You make it real
Lately I can't seem to find
my whole world I would leave behind
Moonlight glistens off the stream that lies before us
No one listens because we don't want them to hear
Starlight rises from the trees on all our sides
no one minds us because they don't know we're
Twilight comes down falls through the leaves onto your face
moonlight on you shines to make you beautiful
darkness sets on surrounds all over everywhere
frightful goings-on, I'll keep you safe in my arms
